Hi there! I work at a Wildlife Sanctuary, where we care for animals that are non-releasable or cannot be further taken care of by their owners. Recently, we have gained a Argentine Black and White Tegu. She was fed only protein, and she does not like anything other than protein sources. When cleaning the enclosure, she often attempt to climb/jump out. She also has trouble being picked up, or "pet". Since the sanctuary uses certain animals that are able to be used for educational purposes, this Tegu woul be a wonderful source of education for many children and adults. However, I am having trouble "taming" her. She bites, tail whips, and scratches.

I do understand each animal has their own personality, however, I was wondering if anybody had any tricks, tips, ideas in ways to "tame" her or to make her feel more comfortable, at least around me. Please help in any way you can! Thank you in advance.
