From the sounds of that you should get some advice from a vet,
My friends Waterdragon had what sounds like the same problem and it died only after a month of noticing it.

The water dragon was only 2 years old.
Yes it had its appetite still
as for the head rubbing e.t.c that is probs just the shed it sounds quite typical.

I really wouldnt advise you to wait get that checked straight away!: victory:
