My situation is unusual as my beardies don't live in an enclosed vivarium; they have the run of the house (obviously I have a routine to avoid them messing but this is simple). They do have a home with a heat lamp and UV tube, which they use when they feel like it. If they want to lie on the cold kitchen tiles overnight, that's their choice. 7 years and they'v never had a problem. I think they thrive on the chance to go to a cool temperature spot. Flipping cold in the desert at night. The girls have their favourite spots to lay their eggs and do so with regularity in those places. They are very lively, friendly and healthy. Too many rules in my opinion to get more money for unnecessary kit.
