okay so i was thinking that in a couple months like 5 months or however long i might get a baby bosc as ive wanted one for a while now, well anyway i know fully grown it will need 8x4x4 tank i would give it that but how long could i have it in a 5 or 6 ft long tank?

I'd say until the monitor length equals the width of the enclosure.

Great advice given already, realistically a time span your probably looking around 18months to 2 years id say in a 6x3.

my male bosc is 13 months old and 3 1/2ft so wouldnt last as long as you think it would. I would use it for now if getting a baby, but get started on the big viv as soon as you can, they just grow and grow and very quickly,

Yep be prepared for a fully grown reptile at a year to 18 months. The growth rate is beyond belief.
