has anyone kept chubby frogs, are they good pets,basic care.

I keep them. Good feeders, and unlike a lot of Microhylids, they aren't really nervous, after time. They soon learn where the food is coming from! :lol2:

Basic care is very similar to Bufonoid toads- a planted tank with a substrate they can burrow in, a water bowl they can soak in- but shallow, and/or with pebbles arranged so they can climb out easily, and shelters. They tend to prefer smaller prey for their size; 3rd and 4th instar crickets, and other insects and invertebrates about the same size. Breeding is a bit tricky- a friend of mine has been trying for a while- but it does happen. I give mine a spray most evenings.
