my 2 year old corn snake has lost his appetite - he's only taking one small mouse every 8-10 days. this started in october. he's not very active in his viv (athough there is evidence that he roams about a bit at night). he's lively enough clambering around me. all his viv settings and conditions are the same as usual

the lack of feeding happened in march when the hormones kicked in, but then it was of course accompanied by almost constant activity, especially at night.

should i be worried about this latest bout?

thanks guys

I've heard that snakes do this toward the colder months. Something to do with them wanting to brumate (like hibernating but for snakes).

So they slow their bodies down, which includes moving about and also feeding (metabolism).

From what I have heard (as I don't have loads of experience in this) they will start to pick up again at the start of the new year.

The other option is to brumate your snakes but I don't think this is common practice unless youre breeding.

hope this helps a bit :?
