Hi everyone,

I am entirely new to the forum and don't currently own a bearded dragon although I have long harboured the ambition. My intention is to build a Vivarium in my office which is next to my desk (very much looking forward to having a Bearded Dragon for company as I work from home).

My issue is I am being advised my Viv should be 4ft wide however I don't have that space in fact only 2.88ft wide however i can have upto 4ft depth and 2ft in height to compensate? Does it work ok like that? Will i have issues heating a larger area to the required temperature?

Looking forward to hearing your expert opinions.

Thanks in advance.

You would have a reasonable amount of sq ft in floor space, the problem you will have is getting the temperature gradient right given the dimensions.

Shouldnt be impossible, but i would try for 3ft high and then have a proper raised basking area about a foot or so off the ground level, so it will help with the gradient more as the basking spot should reach temp easier without pumping as much heat into the rest of the viv.
