This may sound stupid, but is it safe to have electrical fittings (e.g. light fittings) in a humid (75% +) viv? Don't wanna electrocute the snake or start a fire!!!

Yeah no problems there unless you cause the water in the air to condense on your fittings.

For water in the air to condense it needs to come into contact with surface colder than the air. So al long as everything is nice and toasty warm you will be okay.

I heard about one person whose light fitting shorted out - it was ceiling mounted I believe. Probably a case of sprayed water gathering on the flex and running into the housing I reckon.
I used to have my CRB viv over 90% when she was in shed with no problems. Just be careful if you spray the viv.
