Hi everyone,

I have recently hatched two Leopard Rat Snakes, and will be getting them sexed at the weekend.

I understand that males in particular can be difficult to get feeding. Certainly, I have to cool my adult male down during the winter (regardless of whether I'm breeding him) as he stops feeding in October, and won't re-start until he's been brumated.

My question is, if one or both of my hatchlings is male and they continue to refuse food, should I give them an early wintering for a month or so to get them kicked off, or simply keep offering until October and then put them to bed at the same time as their father?

Thanks for advising.
