"A giant python has eaten one of the biggest meals ever - a fully grown pregnant ewe.

The six metre long, 90kg snake was left so full after the meal, it couldn't move and was stuck in the middle of a road before being rescued by firefighters in Kampung Jabor, Malaysia.

A shocked farmer called in the emergency services after finding the python motionless and still trying to digest its prey. The huge snake put up little resistance as it was loaded on to a truck to be taken to safety.

Pythons kill their prey by squeezing them to death and swallowing whole. Large pythons would usually eat something no bigger than a house cat but larger food items are not unknown including deer and even alligators.

Although a large python would have the strength to kill a human, they are not seen as a threat because humans are outside the size of their normal prey.

However there have been cases of humans being eaten by pythons. In 1972 a python in Burma swallowed an eight-year-old boy."
