both of these animals are of comparable age,the smaller was a crap feeder from day1 and is still on adult mice,the larger holdback progressed quickly to small rats and now eats one 4 ounce rat every ten days.

Gaz do you ever find its a problem switching between mice and rats with any of your boas?

Nice pics the larger one has interesting markings. Are they both the same sex or male and female? :D

i have 40+ of them so the sex of those two doesnt really matter lol i dont usually worry about sexing holdbacks until two years old as they are being kept for colour/markings and will then be fitted into the general breeding population as and when. will post a few pics of the holdbacks tomorow for you to see the variations

in every litter theres always a couple of awkward animals,i simply keep them on mice but offer rats once a month,eventually they make the swap on their own

It might be a crappy eater now, but I read somewhere very reliable that most Boa's that are poor eaters in first year all of sudden turn into feeding machines in second year and can't get enough....
Anyhow, way to go Nat for getting a nice new Boa....
