What do people put between heat pads and substrate when they put the pad inside the viv because the temp is spot on but the surface of the mat feels too hot, it is on a stat.

You'll probably get a million different answers but i just have tiles on top of mine. And fairly slim tiles at that!

Yeah they get warm but my geckos are fine!

People say that heat mats get too hot but just remember, these animals come from the deserts in afghanistan and pakistan. Just think how hot the rocks/ground gets there....

As said above, I dont put anything between the mat and substrate.
