I was just wondering how you guys go about heating the middle and the bottom of your Vivs. I have a 4ft high Viv and the heating at the top is no problem but it is around 20- 25°F lower at the bottom directly under the basking spot.

Could I put a heatmat inside the Viv but under the bark to provide a bit of warmth at the base? Or what do you recommend.

I did think of fitting another light, or a ceramic half way down, but I wanted to get your opinions incase I was being silly lol.

The Viv is for a Green Iguana.

i use 2 of the 180w versions of these in clydes viv, located at the bottom, with spot lights at the top.

How much heat do these chuck out, should it be monitored/ controlled?

i got mine on a pulse stat, and along with the lights the viv (6'6" x 4' x 8') is kept at between 26-29 deg
