Hi there, just got a Beardy named Banana and we wanted to introduce it (not sure of gender yet) to you all.

And here's Banana being a very naughty Beardie!

We took the vine down so there'll be no more climbing up to the UVB light - we weren't sure if it was bad for him/her or not!

Also if anyone can tell us it's gender would be much appreciated!

Em, Owen, and Banana xx

Hello :D Lovely piccies!

The beardies should be able to get reaosnably close to the lamp for optimum UV absorption, but clesarly if the bulb is hot you're right in now allowing them to get TOO close. About 8" away is acceptabe - you can achieve this by added a climbing branch if you dont already hsve some in the viv :)

:welcome: i would let your bd get as close as possible(without touching it) to the uv as it can, 6-8 inches is good, but should never be more than 10-12 inches away. Why is your uv tube hot? are you sure its a proper uv? mine done get hot at all.
