How big of a group of viper geckos could I keep in a 4x2x2

You could have a very large group but they do breed very easily so I would advise around 7, although you could comfortably keep more.. If you do get a male but don't want to incubate the eggs you may still happen to find the odd hatchling as the eggs can be missed. I have new 3'x2'x2' set ups ready for my groups of 4 and 2'x18"x18" set ups ready for lone males. I could have more, as could you, but I think they would be grateful for the extra space.

Potentially you could have 10-15 if laid out sensibly but it would be hard as it would be hard to ensure that all are feeding well and in good health.
