Hi I live in the UAE but soon I am moving to the Uk where I used to live. I rescued a tortoise froma pet shop and now I would like to know if I can take it to the UK because some people say its completly banned but others say its fine. He was captive bred and not a particualy rare species (if that make any difference) Please help me. :?: :roll:

When are you coming back? You will need to apply to DEFRA for a permit and this all takes time. So long as you can prove the origin I imagine you will be OK. I would make plans as soon as possible though as plans are underway to prevent importation of tortoises to the country at all and the sooner the better as far as the pet trade is concerned. Hopefully there will eba legal loophole to help peopple such as yourself and for conservation projects.
