im a newbie to snake keeping just have a beareded dragon and several furry animals!! after deciding and undeciding on several types of snakes ive decided that the king snake is the one for me...being particllary attracted to the chain variaties...would just like to know from keepers of these snakes what there take is on them would a 3ft viv be sufficent for the new addition ??

i have a chain x cali, she is nice, but big, a 3ft would be to small, i would say 4ft would be much better, they also like to climb so a bit of height, but not too much.

they are pretty docile, and great snakes, have good feeding responses. most of my snake collection are cali kings, they are great. plenty of care sheets for them around.

good luck
