We had a new rescue come in yesterday via via my good mate Dave at Luton Reptile Rescue.
The rspca turned up at his place with a softshell ( that they thought was a red ear with bad mbd)
So as with any chelonia dave called me to go and pick him up.
Poor guy he is a 10inch chinese softshell (pelodiscus sinensis) with a bit of a shell infection so i will be getting him sorted out soon as ( hes aready being treated with anti bac and anti fungal to see if i can slow it down and clear it if not hes of to the vet).
Hes great and extremely happy swimming around his new tank.

Typica RSPCA eh. Just lucky he wasn't a tortoise or he would probably have drowned by now

I know what you mean Sue.
I had a lady brought me a red ear up that she thought was a tortoise.
She found and thought shed try and keep it but decided it was too grumpy after 3 days ( bit obvious really if youre a turtle in a box with no water).
It lives quite happily in the slider pond outside now.
