Can anybody tell me there views on what is best to use in a Leopard gecko's viv between playsand,or woodchip from a reptile shop???

Out of play sand and wood chipping its playsand!! If some sand is swallowed the chances are it will pass through but if a peice of wood is swallowed, your leo stands VERY little chance.
If it where up to me, I would say neither and go for something like repti-carpet or slate tile :)

I'd say depends on how old it is, I'd use bark chips but I'm no experot in geckos

As above, it depends on age

All mine that are under 6 months are on paper towel and or slate tile

My adults are on a mix of slate and aspen/chips which they use as a loo.

Play sand is better than calci sand, but I wouldnt use soley sand.

To be honest, I dont think you can beat slate tiles, easy to clean, keep the heat, look nice and semi natural. No impactation risk at all.
