yeah tip ... dont buy 6mm glass :shock: ..yeah just built one for our monkeys .. Easy ..B&Q CUT IT ALL TO SIZE ..even better when they say how many sheets wood do you have there sir ... 2 .. opps 3 lol

depends i guess wat u keeping in there .. i brought ..6mm runners by mistake .. cost between 2mm .. 4mm .6mm ..is a lot .i know next time i do it in 4mm .. might even 2mm ..all with polished edges tho

there's not really any need but i think i will just buy single strip from b&q ..as there is only ever one glass slide in there ..i had none left over to do it .... i would use 4mm polished edges .. its not like ours chuck there self at the glass ......... lol if i got 50p ever time i mentioned B&Q ,,I BE RICH

yeah i got a wooded lip at the bottom any ways i doubt if itll be able to reach the plexi-gass. polycarbonate would be better, stronger than glass nearly indestructable.

Hmmm your alot better off just buying direct from a glass company than B&Q cos you can get it cut to size for no extra cost normally. Usually glass/Timber is ALOT cheaper from a timber/glass merchant as they specialize in that item. B&Q do set sheet sizes that need cutting etc.

I by all my diy wood from timber yard for ALOT cheaper than B&Q.

I made my vent by cutting a long narrow hole then covering it with a piece of aviary mesh cut to size. Cost: £2.50 per sheet. bargain!

yes whilst glass is nice you've got to keep in mind what im planning on doing.

1) im not using sliding doors, im using a hinge, so im gonna have to drill through whatever i use, i cant do this as i have neither the equipment or the skills to drill through glass.

2) price, im a 16yo kid who pulls in little over £20 a weeks whilst the would be more than enough to pay for that size glass i also have other things that need buying.

3) polycarbonate is actually stonger, cheaper, more sratch resistant than glass. also it is much easier to work with.
