Just looked at the B&Q website and found it but it has this warning

"Use of gloves advised, wash hands after use, keep away from children and pets and use only the quantities recommended"

:(

Any garden centre will have it, it may go by a different brand name though.

Just had a look around on the net and I think you might be right. Doesn't look like its toxic to me. Gonna go B&Q tomorrow : victory:

I've just been to B&Q where i've always got my lecca from and couldn't find any anywhere. i asked if they had any and the woman said they only stock the gel crystal, had worked there for three years and had never heard of it! She's talking out of her bottom because i bought some earlier on this year.
Does anyone know where else i can get it from? Also been to local garden centres and they havent any either:devil:
Thank you!

I've been getting my hydroleca (but I think it's just called leca on my packet) from my local garden centre which is a wyevale..... I think they are all round the country. I also get big bags of sphagnum moss there, if that's any use

If you go to B&Q try asking for it as Hortag. I work for a suppplier to B&Q and it is also known as this name, hope this helps. Well it certainly is called that on our system as we have over 100 bags of the stuff sat in out warehouse!!

It is hortag (horticultural aggregate).... Wash it off and soak it for half an hour, then wash off again.... any nasties that have decided to go into the bag will die off.... Its far cheaper, and generally freely available from most good garden stores from the beginning of the summer season, as a lot of people use it in the base of their flowerpots and hanging baskets etc., as it is far lighter than soil.

Update

I to checked out B&Q but its now a discontinued item according to my local store as supply was in short supply last year.....

Almost any good garden centre will stock this product and yesterday i went to Klondyke(Edinburgh) they have bags at 5.99 and 10.99.
The warning is presumably for the dust that accompanies the product straight from the bag after a good wash this should be OK however. Some aquarium products carry the same warning....
