HI,JUST BORT LOADS OF PINE WOOD TO MAKE A VIV..THEN SAW ON HERE "DO NOT USE PINE":hmm:..WOULD IT STILL BE OK TO MAKE IT WITH PINE BUT USE 6MM PLY TO TOTALLY COVER INSIDE OF VIV AND THEN SEAL IT,AND MAKE IT WATER PROOF???

Personally I would have thought that if the pine is fully sealed with varnish (two coats) and then an additional layer of material you should be OK but I'd recommend looking at all the points of view before making your decision. In my Leo viv I have a piece of pine which I varnished twice and then stuck bird seed on to use as a support for a second level.

yea id say you would be ok if you completly sealed the hold thing from the pine ive gotta line and seal 2 huge tanks! lol.
if your not happy with it you could always line the inside on the viv with like fablon/sticky back plastic i think i will with mine

Varnish costs loads, I'd go for the safe option and buy some contiboard for the viv, then make a nice cupboard out of the pine :lol2:
