i have just been given a gecko from a work colleague as he didnt want it and i have just bought a viv tank with sliding doors.

she is very nervous and always hides, even at night.

i have made 2 hides in the tank, one at the cold end and one halfway.

do you have any advice on how to keep her happy in her new viv tank.

i would say give her a week or so to settle in.keep a few hides in her viv as she will be a bit skitish for a short time.i would advise putting a hide on the hot side of the viv to so she doesnt chose security over warmth.try not to disturb her to much either untill shes more settled.Have you got a hide filled with moist moss in the viv?you will need one to help her shed.also have you got a small dish of calcium in the viv.its always a good idea to do so.

she has a moist moss in the middle of the tank made out of the old cricket packaging with a hole in the side with insulating tape covering the sharp sides of the hole.

i have calcium powder to cover the crickets but do i need to get some more calcium. i cover three crickets every three days and one wax worm

mines a leopard gecko, just found out mines female as it has no tesicle bumps. is this true or is there meant to be a hole somewhere???? or am i blind as she dont like being picked up.
