ive just bought a 4x2x2 wooden viv which will be housing a beardie soon.but im not sure at all what to get!ive been reserching but theres to many brands of everything out there...petshops arent any help either.could someone please help

Hi Marvolo,

What aren't you sure about, lighting, heat, decorations etc.

Lighting for a viv of that size would be a 60W approx spot light and a 36 inch UV flourecent bulb. You are aiming for a basking temp of 40-43 degrees C. You will also need a small red bulb, maybe 20-30 watts for night times. Have a look at www.beardeddragon.org there is some good information on that site.

Where are you getting it from, I know of a few places selling beardies in Dublin. One paticular shop which would be very helpfull in giving you the info you need.

im buying it from a breeder in dublin,ive just tried my local petshop in tallaght and a few in the city center

It is worth talking to Ben in Reptile Haven in Fishamble St, if you haven't already.

As for other equipment, lights, heat, other bits and bobs, if you have the time, order it from the UK over the net. Comparing prices, we are generally paying 50-75% over the odds in Ireland.

Cheers for that link Mark, I thought Camzoo just did livefoods and frozen stuff :roll: Really good prices on the stats, I quite like the microclimates too.
