On a rat compared to a equivelent sized mouse, rats may have higher fat content, but they also have higher protein content and higher bone density meaning more calcium content too, so all-in-all much better than mice...

yeah i have just got a new boa, its about a foot long and about as fat as a rat pup so its about a few months old and i wanted to get it on rats now instead of doing it in the longrun when its older to save any hastle.
