me and my ex have brought two 6 month old corn snakes,i just wonder how easy it should be for a pet shop to be able to sex corn snakes?

i ask this as i dont think the woman had a clue,still not sure what sexes we have :(

I agree with the others, a specialist reptile person or a herp vet. Many regular employees in pet shops don't have much idea when it comes to reptiles (i.e. the one I went in for rodents the weekend - "what are you feeding those too??" accompanied by a squeamish look as she held the bag at arm's length :roll: ). Somebody inexperienced with sexing can do more harm than good.

i know these women have owned this shop for many many years,i just cant believe they cant sex them yet lol.

my ex partner wanted a female and she just blatently said "well look at the length of the tails.if it turns out its a male bring it back" by the time he figures out what sex his snake is he will be so attatched that he wont wanna take it back lol.

lol i got a dodgy look of a kid once so i slammed the rat on the table and asked if he wanted to pet it lol

And ask some of them if they've got any rabbits ... I was given a look of total horror once "You mean they eat BUNNIES???!!!!" Yep - it's a boa :roll:

eeeekkkk youd better not come round mine then with it lmao.i have a few animals here that ive rescued including rabbits and mice lol :twisted:

Mmmm - that would be fun - we've got a local garden centre that sells rabbits (the expensive kind, lop ears and about 40 quid). I could wander around and say hmmmm - that one looks very yummy and about the right girth for my snakey to play with she needs the exercise - nah, it's not big enough - needs something puppy-sized :lol: :lol: :lol:

haha, and to th ink i've got really bad responses from people when saying i'm feeding my snakes pinkies! haha
