Hi all newbie saying hello. question, bearded dragon ( sons crimbo present) he is about 5 months old, recently he has been gasping for air, we thought maybe too hot but took him to vets and the poor sod has got worms in his respiratory area. he has been given anti biotics and some thing to rid the worms. any one else had this? vet said it could take at least 2 weeks before we see an improvement. he is eating well but seems uncomfortable. any advice would be appreciated. many thanks bob.

Thanks for all advice. fortunatley we are not far from a reptile specailist, who has tested stool sample, which showed up more than just a few invaders! vet said it is something that he would have been passed on from mum.? and not a recent thing. As he was heavy breathing from the chest area rather than the stomach antibiotics were given to kill off any infection. every day for a week. also panacur once a week for 4 weeks. 1 week after treatment stool sample will be checked again. He is feeding on small brown crickets, med locusts approx 8 a day. along with mixed veggies.and a treat of waxworms every other. all supplemented with Nutrobal. He lives in a 3ft viv, on cali sand, uv, basking light and heat mat. temp by day 97, night drops to around 75. as for handling.. you got to catch him first!!

Crickets. can anyone tell me what those little fury worm like things are that come in the same tub !? some say he can eat them and he will. vet said was ok.

Dean he has a log which means he can get close to the basking light, the temp gauge is in between the hot and cool areas so i would thinks its above 100 so will be putting temp gauges both ends to clarify temps. thanks mate.
