I'm going to be switching my Royal over to ceramics, instead of a heatmat now that she's bulking up. I know I'll need a ceramic bulb holder, a new thermostat, and a guard . . But, with a guard being so close to the bulb, and made out of metal, will it not get hot enough to potentially burn her? Unless there are non metallic guards that I'm unaware of . . ?

the right size guard should leave enough gap so it doesn't get too hot.
