Hi all

My Royal Python is eating ex large mice, I have bought some small rats.
If my Royal will eat the rat, which one of the two will give my snake the most vitamins.
Can I have thoughts on the subject please.

Thanks

Rats are the better bet, as large mice are often overweight ex breeders. Gram for gram the rat has less fat and more protein than a large mouse.

Rats are a much better rodent BUT a mouse every now and again will help maintain nutriants that a rat doesn't contain so in short feed both but rats mainly :D

personally i used rats as my first choice for ball pythons just because they are bigger item of food... also you get better growth/size when feeding rats. gerbils would be my second choice. at the moment i'm currently growing some hatchlings on using just multimate-mice as the adults are about the same size as a small rat
