Hi there
My 5 month old rat snake just shed again.
The shed wasnt perfect one piece ( maybe due to the olive oil treatment for mites a few weeks back ) there was an inch of tail section left on which I have since removed.
When looking at the shed I can only see one eye cap on it. The other is just a hollow.
I have had a quick look around the viv before work this morning but couldn't see the other cap. I am using paper towel as substrate and shes only in a faun so its not too difficult a task.
Both her eyes look the same though so my questions are...
Can you usually spot if the cap is retained ?
If you can't easily spot a retained cap, how do you treat / remove ?
I will have a good look around the faun tonight and see if I can find it.
Regards.
