Hi all,

A friend living in Ningbo (Zhejiang,China) sent me this picture of a snake spotted in his community this morning. Can anyone identify and tell me a bit more about it?

Thanks!

Yes Ed is right, it is Lycodon rufozonatus, the Red Wolf snake.
Very defensive little things, common throughout much of China from the south all the way up to Beijing - which is pretty interesting as it shows they can tolerate a huge range of temperature variance.
