I feed my crickets food before I feed them to my cresties, I also don't put more than 5 in for a adult.. small bowl of something like smoothie crickets like but add calcium powder.
I never have a problem with crickets, except fir the noise

Feed your rep outside of its home , Crickets are nasty bitey little things and should'nt be left in with your rep for that reason. Or just put the crickets in the fridge for a bit to slow them down.

I agree, crickets shouldnt be left in for them to be able to do this.
