I use substrate in all of my enclosures.
Rainforest species (bark, soil, milch, moss, bioactive, leaf litter etc.
Dry land, sand or sand and soil mix (maybe aspen, but not much)
Quarantine, (newspaper)
Hatchlings, kitchen roll) : victory:

My berber skink is on about 4 inches of playsand.
My ackie is on 5-6 inches of bio active playsand/ topsoil mix

All my viv have substrate my snakes have aspen and my adult dragons corse wood Chipping's my baby hatchlings kitchen towel . I like to make my animals to feel at home as much as I can .
