hi, after snake had a bad shed he was rubbing one side of his head on viv now no sign of access shed but has taken some scales off any antibiotic creme i could use also he is always in water,no sign of mites temps are fine anyone any ideas?

theres no point using an anti-biotic cream on something unless theres signs of infection. plus most will be POM

you want to go chemist tomorrow and buy povodine iodine and mix it 1.2 with warm water and clean the area

povodine iodine/tamadine is the best stuff that you can get over the counter. Dilute as WW says and dab it on with some cottonbud. Other good thing to use is flamazine although this is a POM.

I'd stick with dilute pevidine cleaning, until it begins to dry. Barrier creams such as Flamazine and F10 despite being creams will abraid the area when applied no matter how gentle you are and prevent it from drying properly, which is really the key to healing.

Vanodine V18 is a good one. Maybe OTT in some peoples eyes, but has never failed me. It's a biocide as oppose to being an anything specific-cide. Kills the lot.

EDIT - oh and it's immensly strong stuff so if you do go the V18 route, remember to take note of the suggested dilution ratio on the bottle. It will be somewhere between 1:200 and 1:500.
