im wondering if anyone knows about sun beetles??
i have two which are adults,today whilst cleaning out there food i found a grub type thing stuck to the bottom of one of them,i thought it was a seed with sprout sticking out at first,untill i looked under a magnifying glass...im stumped as too what it is,can anyone help please? xx

It sounds like a larvae, or a grub. You've probably got breeding adults. If it's loose, then leave it under the soil. If it's stuck, as you said, it may be forming the chrysalis or cocoon. They hatch from eggs and develop into grub like creatures (larvae) and spend their time under the soil. If you want it to develop,don't disturb it. When it comes out of the cocoon it will be in adult form and will then come to the surface. I've a colony of these beetles and they breed a lot. :)
