Hi everyone, I'm still unsure what the best substrate is for my 1 yaer old male beardy. I have over the past used differant things, I have used large beech chips, T rex Desert Snow (looks nice, but VERY expensive), sand(which I stopped using because I was told so many horror stories), and I am currently using T Rex Sani Chips. I am so wary of the risk of compaction, so can anyone tell me what they think is the safest, cheapest and pleasing to the eye substrate? Or am I asking too much, wanting all these features?! And has anyone used these Sani-chips? :?

I would also like to know this for Rankins Dragons - although care sheets are great I just can't decide what is best!

I'm currently using a mix on Newspaper to line bottom of viv with small bark and eco earth mix on top. They eat from a bowl so I'm not too worried about impaction but its always good to know what is best.

Look forward to reading your replies Lucie!
