My Adult femle corn shed last night but today ive notice no muscle movement in her tail and its starting to go black and dry out , my vet isnt around til 4:30 today , has anyone experienced anything like this ?
ive spoken to 1 reptile specialist and he said it sounded like her tail had been trapped in the door at some point , this certainly hasnt happened with me and im 99% sure lil un hasnt been near them.

Any ideas anyone?

This sounds rather serious to me, if the tail is starting to go black her circulation has been compromised in some way - has she had any trauma at all recently?
Was the shed trapped around the tail?

This isnt really something that can be answered over the net, id be inclined to get ANY vet to see her asap as lack of muscle control and darkening sounds like cell death is already taking place.

I don't know much about snake health, yet, but would certainly say that anything black is no longer live tissue.

There can be exceptions like with bruising, but I don't think snakes bruise like we do.

I'd say double time it to the vet man.

A corn I rescued had that.... but this was due to it not shedding its tail for about 6 months so there were layers upon layers of unshedded skin... after I finally pulled it off the end of the tail was black and he lost the last 2mm....

Right i took her to the vet, hes said her body is swollen with fluid , theres a lump just before her cloaca and when he applied a little bit of pressure bloody fluid came out .

He has said whenever there is blood leaving the cloaca its not good news , he said hes 99% sure its cancer.

Ive got to keep her on newspaper and see if theres any more blood and to see if the swelling goes down .

The tail thing he said is superficial but all tied in , all in all doesnt look good for the old girl (shes nearly 14)

What a shame. At least the old girl has had a good run and yo're looking out for her now. I recall someone else I know had a snake with a cloacal swelling which was cancerous - not nice to ifnd out at all :(
