ive had my argentinian tegu for two weeks now and he hasnt caused any problems at all with handling but at the moment hes becomeing skitish when ever i go in his viv, hes 20 inces so still at the size to be a bit skitish but as he wasnt before could his change in attitude be that hes shedding
does anyone else see a change in there lizards when theyre
sheeding?

any chance its just him reaching maturing age?

it could well be they do get a bit funney when they start to mature
he doesnt whip or try to bite me he just runs away and squirms when i pick him up

check if he's damaged himself at all then, maybe he's hurt himself and u havent realised.

All reptiles feel uncomfortable and more vulnerable when they shed.I wouldn't say this change in attitude is surprising :wink:

hes not damaged i checked him tonight tegus are known for being very tame and docile he wasnt running away before he would just sit there and let me rub his back when he was on his basking log hed wallk to my hand then id pick him up

hes finished shedding and hes back to his normall freindly self im sure it must be really horrible haveing skin on them thats to small for them id be pissed off too
