Hello everyone.

I have a naturalistic vivarium with a female giant day gecko. She is very healthy except for one somewhat abnormal bowl movement yesterday. A few days ago I noticed a cluster of tiny blackish/grey worm like things floating in the water dish when I was changing it (I clean and change both of them every day). I thought it was just some dirt that she kicked into it. I changed the water dish and went on with my day. At the end of the day I noticed them again. Upon closer inspection I realized they were moving. I scooped some out onto paper and they started running around. Possibly springtails? I've never seen grey springtails. Should I be concerned?

I also have an elevated water dish and they appear in both dishes after just a few hours. I also boiled both water dishes for 30 minutes to sterilize them and refilled them with clean water and again after only 2-3 hours around 100 of them appeared in the large dish on the floor and maybe 15-30 in the elevated dish.

Baby springtails. I don't know why, but they love to party on the surface of my water bowls.
I thought so. I took a close up timelapse of the bowl after putting fresh water in it and watched as tons of them came running onto the surface of the water like ants. I was just confused because I had never seen them walking on the surface, only ever saw dead ones that ended up drowning. Thanks!

Beautiful day gecko I think it could benefit from a tall plant on the front left hand side. Josh’s frogs supposedly sells good plants (I wouldn’t know I’m not from America) and have big variety of plants I think some Sansevieria or some other tall plant would be nice there and could give a bit more vertical space since it’s quite open. Sorry if I’m coming of rude not trying to be just trying to give helpful advice:)

I've had to remove a variety of plants due to them not doing very well. I plan to rebuild soon most likely in a larger enclosure with a foam carved background. I threw this enclosure together quickly with what I had because I rescued her from someone who was not taking very good care of her. Don't worry I've been keeping an eye out for a decent snake plant for a while now. Just can't find one that fits well for the current size of the enclosure.
