A few weeks back I posted a thread about my 1100g female royal python and after suggestions that she may be a he I brought her up to Dublin to Reptile Haven to be sexed.

Ben said from looking at the tail he'd say female, but one side probed as male and the other side probed as female. He said that she's most likely female and could have a perforated pocket.

So, Stimmy is most likely female, but could be a male as well.

How many grams is the ideal weight to breed a female royal?

Ben said some people in the US breed their girls as low as 1200g but he said my girl is definately too small to breed from, but she's a healthy looking animal, not obese.

I'm not planning to breed from her anyway, I'm just curious.

She has never really gone on a feeding fast despite being at least three years old, possibly four (apart from the six week period she was being treated for belly rot and could you blame her? Poor girl)

At the moment she gets a small rat one every two weeks.

I have no idea. The snake is either female with a perforation on one side, male with a blocked hemepenal pocket on the other side or intersexed.

I don't know how common intersexed snakes are or even if they exist at all.
