My friends emperor scorpion gave birth recently (June 16th) with 10 baby emps. From what we both know the young stay on the mother back between 4-6 weeks after birth. The babies have all come off her back now and its only been 2 weeks, they are not completely black and have only molted once (but have hardened with a dark line which appeared on their backs).

Here is a picture of the mother and her abandoned young:

(the young are on the mid right of the picture, they kinda blend in with the dry moss but squint your eyes and tilt your head :p)

Is there anything he needs to do? did something go wrong? if so then what should he proceed to doing now?

Any help and further advice is well appreciated from the community.

Hi - If they have left the mothers back and have molted they are independant enough to be on their own, they can be kept together in a deli cup or other suitable container, I would advise to seperate from the mother she may eat them, with regards to feeding them don't worry too much yet they will still be surving on natural fluid from the mother.
