Hi everybody,

I have a question about my lionfish. The horns/antenna just above the eyes seem to be shrinking. This happened before to one of my lions and he died. This is my favourite fish, I think they are beautiful fish and hope my current one isn't going to die. Has the loss of horns/antenna happened to anyone else before?

They are beautiful fish, but personally ive never kept one, for Marine Fish Q&A you would be much better off on here ...

a few years back this happened to 2 of mine. they were both over 10 inches in size and both males.
after a few weeks, the horny bits started coming back though.
i had 2 males and 3 females in a 7ft by 3 by 3 tank, i was told by a friend of mine that it could have been a sign of breeding patterns.
but,m its also happend to a fuzzy dwarf of mine, when it was on its own.
