Hey.

I've just done up my first wax-worm colony. I've followed the advice in the feeder forums and here i am :) Some of my waxies are cacooning themselves at the moment and the rest are happily munching on the substrate.



There's a pic of the colony so far and I hope within a few months it'll be a lot bigger.

Let me know what you think and if you have one of your own what advice/stories can you give

Yer there quite expensive arent they waxworms..

How do you breed them can you tell me?

Yeah that's where I got my information from was the feeder part of this forum. The basics are you put wheatabix and honey in a container and they do it all themselves. You'll get all stages of life in there, the pupae, the worms, the cacoons, and eventually the moths.

Take a look in the feeder section - the thread that was most helpful was Waxworm Overload. :) I'm happy I've finally done it. It's something I'd wanted to do for a while but never got around to it.
