Many people will have noticed the NERRK name being banded about. It has been used for several combined events when more than one shop works together for the good of the reptile hobby and industry. It stands for North Eastern Responsible Reptile Keepers, and campaigns for the best of everything for the reptile keeper in the North East of England.

As the founder of NERRK, and also the owner of the only specialist reptile wholesaler in the North of England I feel passionate about offering the best range, the best quality, the best prices, just the BEST all round. For this reason, Zoo Logic, my wholesale company is taking the next stage of NERRK existance up a gear. Now that NERRK is a well known, almost household name, we are going to launch a similar idea to the Euronics dealership - for those unfamiliar this is where independant shops can benefit from being part of the Euronics buying power.

Watch this space for the announcements of the shops that will be joining NERRK - once you see the NERRK membership in a shop you know you will be guaranteed the best deal - whether it be price or service. The first shop has already come on board - thats my own, Coast to Coast Exotics, the next is also a very well known shop in the North East who will be making their own announcements shortly.

Deal details will be following shortly, but needless to say that NERRK shop members will offer the best price - no matter who else claim thay can beat it.

Thanks for all the messages of support for this idea. I'm glad that the idea has come to fruitation, and it should benefit every body in the North East - perhaps even further if the idea proves very popular. The idea had to be moved on quicker than expected, so bear with me while I sort the finer details of it all - visit again perhaps next week for more details?

I have secured a rather special deal on Lees reptile products - some of their products are quite unique, and others are comparable to products in other ranges. Needless to say prices will be very low, so it will be a good chance to get some special items at a price that no other shop can match - even if they try to compete with similar products in different ranges. More details will be announced shortly.

I am also looking at a rather special promotion on the exciting Australian range Reptile One - this will be great news for everyone on the run up to Xmas.

The final arrangements are being made with the second member shop, who will also be able to offer the deals mentioned, and also compete with any other offer being banded about in the North East.

I have had lots of enquiries from other shops too, so who knows where the next member will be? Who next will offer these unbeatable deals? could it be someone in Durham? Seaham? maybe Washington? Its exciting times - and goes to show what benefits reptile keepers can get once the shops and breeders work together!

It's an idea in thought process for quite some time - sort of a franchise style operation to benefit retailers - kind of but not. Shops with NERRK status will benefit from a huge buying power, and of course this means better prices - and of course the main benefits will be to the customers of those shops. It should make a more competitive Market place in the North East, better prices is great news in these dark economic times and will make the customers of NERRK shops even more loyal. More announcements will be made shortly, as the whole process has had to be speeded up of late - it's all very exciting at the moment!

Just wanted to add a great big thank you!

The last few months have been greatly helped along with all your support. From the helpers at events like the Durham show, the trade customers being patient with me (I'm on top of it now guys), the breeders supporting me, the people who have helped me collate data such as recorded slanderous comments and libel issues and above all those customers who have helped in many, many, many ways - how ever small -

Thank you!
A further announcement is due very soon with regards to NERRK!

NERRK now has two shops - Team Reptiles now joins and will be offering the unique deals only available members!

From Monday we will have a promotion on Lees reptile products. Some of the highlights are;

Lees Herp Haven (comparable to Flat Faunariums) Lge 45cm x 30cm x 17.5 (approx) are a staggering £11.99! Check that price against similar products - its at least half the price - sometimes more!

Lees Herp Habitat Bow Fronted Terrarium 58cm x 43cm x 28 cm - RRP is around £89.95 - best prices on the internet seem to be around £50-£70 - price at both NERRK shops is £39.95!

Lees Herp Habitat Bow Fronted Terrarium 46cm x 36cm x 20 cm - RRP is around £79.95 - best prices on the internet seem to be around £40-£70 - price at both NERRK shops is £36.95!

All these offers are on a first come first served basis, and are limited to two per customer! Once they are gone, they are gone!

Our next promotion will be in time for Xmas and will be specials on Komodo products. Watch out for rather special displays at both shops and some quite amazing deals!

We work closely with Komodo, and in fact their agent also freelances for Zoo Logic! Maybe its always worthwhile doing some homework :whistling2: - keep a watch out for these exciting unique deals!

Just a quick note;

Dont forget that due to Zoo Logics commitment to the trade in the North East both NERRK shops will have an unrivalled reliable supply of live food. Some shops only use one supplier, and often this is way down south, once the weather is bad they cant easily get supplies. Zoo Logic buys from nearly all major breeders, and for that reason isnt tied to one - if supplies cant get through from one there are the others to fall back on to. Last year, many shops in the North East were let down during the extreme bad weather, some shops not having livefood supplies for days - up to a week or longer! Zoo Logic customers had an almost normal supply to our shops, and gained many customers due to this reliability.

The bad weather is predicted for two weeks time - NERRK shops give you the best chance of livefood!

Both NERRK shops are now advertising on this forum! The policy is "help each other out, stick together, and we all grow strong!". May we take this opportunity to thank RFUK for the opportunity and wish a mutually beneficial relationship for all!

Watch out for further news to be announced!

My Opinion/Conerns

As a North East Reptile Keeper I’ve been getting increasingly concerned by a number of recent posts on this and other forums by North East Reptile shops and also conversations I have been having with various shops throughout the North East (NE).
Most people know there is a business link between Coast to Coast and Team Reptiles so this NERRK announcement is to no great surprise. These recent notices of the expansion of NERRK by branching across the NE are nothing more than narrowing the market for the reptile keeper. I regularly visit most of the Reptile Shops throughout the NE to get a better range of animals and compare prices etc. to get a good deal.
NERRK sounds great in principal, but seems to be nothing but a false front for Coast to Coasts ‘Zoo Logic’ trade brand. Thus we (the NE reptile keeper) will be left with narrow selection of animals all at the same price. Please consider your effect on the NE reptile keepers by putting profit before prices/animal welfare and turning every reptile shop in the NE into mini Coast to Coasts with an ethos rather like Pets at Home!
Diversity is the spice of life!

Dont forget, lots of work going on behind the scenes to make the North East even better for reptile keepers - including the forthcoming NERRK show - sponsored and run again by the two branches of the IHS up here (Tyne and Wear and Tees Valley sister branches!).

I was a little puzzled by this post - Bev, the post was not from Chaz at Snakes n Adders! Send my best to Chaz when you see him next!
