Advice needed: open wound on my royal pythons head

I've added a few photos so you can see what i mean.
There was a small scar/bump on Nephs head, I was hoping would just shed out. Hes started his shed this evening and i found his head in this state! whats he;s done is pull himself out off his skin and also pulled off the scab with it. Obviously hes sustained some injury before i obtained him.
Now. . . the wounds mostly sealed over with scar tissue, although there was a little blood. He'll defo have a scar between his eyes for sure.
I just hope the tissues heal over again before his next shed so it doesn't happen again.
My question is how should i treat this wound, or even should i treat it? My thought was to dab it with fresh water and allow to dry out naturally. The areas all free from old skin and scab. And also hes in a new week old viv so he will be in a clean environment.

thanks

completely clean the wound out, allow it to dry then put on some Betadine if you have it. It's an antiseptic sort of like iodine but is safe for use on reptiles. Should encourage the natural healing process and scar tissue to granulate again

my concern would be the scar could cause shedding problems in future, so worth keeping an eye on it

ok, what you need is a antiseptic and a antibacterial cream. i was advised this by barry on the site and this cream closed the open burns on the rescue Boa that i have now living with me, its called BRULIDINE, (same content as vetadine) it is good stuff, its for:

cuts, grazes, wounds, burns, scalds, nappy rash, and active in the presence of pus and blood.

Brulidine

this is what i would use, but other people on this site may use something else. so please make sure by other people as i have found this usefull as some may dis agree.

ouch that looks painful.
The wound came from rubbing its head but it never looked like that before. One of the siblings had the same problem but it just came off in the shed and nothing opened up.
Have you seen him trying to squeeze his head through anything and escape?

nah, no escape attemps at all, and no unusual behavior with rubbing. Just doing his normal things and "trying" to shed normal.
It did look like a scar before it opened, but the scab was still attached to the shed skin of the head, so im guessing the wound hadnt healed properly before the shedding caused it to pull out.
Like the guy said ^^^^ im going to have to how it heals before his next shed or the same could happen again. Could be a problem with the relatively short gaps between sheding as hes a young boy and will be growing fast.

Well the wounds clean and most of its dry. I'll get my hands on some Iodine or the like suggested, to make sure it stays clean.

i Might have to rename him now inlight of his "Scar" ;)

i havent fed him since i obtained him. . . its been no more than 2 weeks tho since hes fed. I'll feed him as soon as the shed complete and wait till his heads up to scratch before his next shed ;)
thanks for the advice guys, much appriciated.
I'll post up again soon and bump this thread.
