anoles

Hey, I used to have a couple of blues (from Birmingham funnily enough) in a community tank with greens and some tree frogs. They ruled the tank and intimidated everything else. I wouldn't recommend it unless they are in a really big viv. :hmm:

 

Ok thanks so you dont think a female blue would get on well with a male green in a 2ft h x 2ft l x 1.5ft w ?

 

I honestly couldn't say mate. Personally I wouldn't because it's no fun having a tank full of stressed lizards. Why do you want to mix them?

 

Hi ok thanks wel i was just thinking of having a bit of a mix of colour and possibly seeing if they would breed at all.

 

the blues and green anoles willnot cross bread as althought the common name is the same they are from different families thus arnt related.

Mixing blue anoles with anything will cause problems really. Mising species in general isnt reconmanded unless you have alot of room to do it in, the experience to notice the signs of stress and illness in the animals, the room to seperate if things go bad the animals also have to have very simaulr care. Which again although common in name, blue anoles reguire differnt care from greens.

 

they are now on the crictally endangered list so i doubt you'll be able toget hold of one: victory:

 

there 2 species f blue anole i belive (really must find out the latin)one is stupidly rare and very endadgered and one occurs every so often in the pet trade

 

Hi i understand about mixing species but i thought there would be no trouble with anoles i thought that they were the same a part from colouring.
I have read that the blue anole i was after had pretty much the same requirments as the green which is why i was after one. I think it was the caribbean blue anole that is suppose to be avaliable.

I had been searching for the blue anole and found that there was one which s almost extinct, i wasnt after that one i was after the slightly more common one which is supposidly sometimes avaliable.
