There are two types of blue GTP's;

1. Hormonal Blues - Female GTP's that take on a blue colour due to hormonal changes associated with breeding. The blue will usually fade after the breeding season is over but the more that the female is bred, the more likely that she'll retain the blue colour. This isn't a morph but it's possible that a hormonal blue female will produce females that are themselves more likely to display blue colouration during breeding. There's no such thing as a hormonal blue male.

2. Ontogenic Blues - These are GTP's (both males and females) that take on a blue colouration as part of the colour change process that GTP's go through. This is a proper genic trait. Animals that turn straight to blue, without going through a green phase, are so called "super blues".
