My gecko has been consistently gaining weight. He’s 49 grams now but he has fat rolls on his neck and body. I’ve been cutting back on his food, and he barely eats any to begin with. 2 small insects a week and 2 MRP a week. Does this sound like a medical issue that I should bring to a vet, or is there something I’m doing wrong?

I think it’s roughly 57 liters, or 30-30-60 cm. I know people recommend a 76 liter, but I didn’t have much more table space for anything more than 30 by 30 cm, and 60 cm tall was the highest I could find in that. I take him out and let him climb and jump on me for about 20 minutes a day at least though.

Possibly, my Geckos barely gain weight in the winter, despite the temperature remaining the same. They tend to not eat insects as much in winter also.

How accurate are your scales? Only asking as I had rubbish scales at one point & said my Gecko had lost 10g but hadn't when I used another scale. I've never had them loose that much weight though, not even the girls.

What insects do you feed him?
