Heater that goes down to 16/18 degrees

I have a couple of axolotls that I keep in an unheated utility room - it is great in the summer as temps stay just under 20 degrees. My problem is, that in the winter the temps drop too low - I am trying to find an aquarium heater that goes down to 16 - 18 degrees C. Most don’t go below 20 and that is just a bit too high - anyone know of any that go that low?

Aquel EasyHeater or NeoHeater range goes down to 17C. Just watch though, I've had a couple of them fail on me. One stayed off but one jammed on and boiled some fish. Could just be a fluke as I've used quite a few of them (I work in a research aquarium) and they've all been fine apart from those two.

An alternative is to hook a normal heater up to a thermostat (like a reptile one with a waterproof probe) and set the temp that way, lots of those go down to 18C.

How low do you go

Axolotls outside in an unheated greenhouse not a problem.
However, another option for heater is to use one with an adjuster and a dial on the top.
There is usually a screw holding the adjuster on. Turn the adjuster as low as it will go.
Take the adjuster off, put it back on at the highest setting, fixing screw back in place. Turn down to a lower setting using a thermometer, because the dial is now useless. Although I am not sure how accurate the dials are in the first place.
At some point the bimetallic strip may be a problem, failing on or off, so some trial and error necessary. Thermometer is your best guide.
