I'm currently building an 8x4x4 enclosure for my savannah monitor. I am planning to do a wood frame lined with vinyl. I was hoping to get some info for how to properly ventilate the enclosure. What size vents? Should vents be level to soil for proper thermal gradient? Are fans needed? Any other recommendations or resources?

Thanks

The only vents in my enclosure are the small hole I drilled for all the wiring to come through about an inch and there are 3 of them that's it I find it helps with holding onto the heat and humidity longer which is what you need with monitors you want to able to open that enclosure and have it smack you in the face..

Also I would go with an all wooden structure frame and boards and then use pondsafe epoxy to coat it then seal the edges with silicone..makes for a sturdier structure and helps insulate the enclosure slightly

I also have two small computer fans at one end in each corner to create an air current in the enclosure theyre on a timer for every 4 hours until lights out
